The night's fog was thick but crisp as it seemed to creep into my window I'd drawn open slightly. It was two a.m. but the dog was throwing up. The vet says they're seizures. I could have gone to the conveinient store around the corner but I'm a slave to the prices of chinese goods at low priced conglomeratization.

I pay attention to my speed because i know main street cops are strict this time of night. Store after store that remains closed to my left and right, most will never reopen. Finally, there over the hilll was the blue lights of my destination. A left and right around the parking lot and i was on my way to through the front door. The opening slid open and I passed aisle upon aisle until I found it. Pepto bismouth. The pink stuff should do the trick. Better get the pill form so i can trick the poor little bastard by hiding his cure in one of his favorite foods. I paid the three dollars and got back into my car. I tried to hurry home and so I took a back road. Passed the hospital and around the usual couple bends. I came to the last four way before I began to go by the farm.

A womans scream shook me. It came from the right. I looked desperately for its source. It was too dark and there weren't any street lights. I was startled, but for a moment considered continuing on my way. Again, i heard it, this time more drawn out and high pitched than before. I pulled my car to the right, shifted into park, undid my seatbelt and opened my door, keys still in the running car. I looked over my roof and saw a barn. It stood alone. Surely, whoever screamed must be in there. I left my car, popped my trunk and pulled an aluminum bat. Slowly i made my way across the street and toward this barn. I tried not to think of what I'd probably see inside, and just focused on gripping my weapon tight. I came around the corner and saw the door was open. A man stood over a woman who lay there scared, arm shielding her face.

"Hey mother fucker! Get away from her!" I yelled with anger in my voice as to shake the attacker. The balding man in a plaid shirt turned to me with a smile, eyes squinted under his brow. His hair on his chest was thick and seemed to almost connect to his thick beard. His stance was wide. He put one foot my way then brought the other foot beside his. He was about to run toward me. I could tell. My grip tightened on the bat in my right hand and he began his stride toward me, hands extended surely to grab me, but i joined my hands to the bat, took it back and swung a fully swing toward his head. I slammed my target and the body of the culprit went limp and spun before slamming to the ground.

I quickly made my way to the lady in distress. I reached my hand to her and from her tears she looked up at me like an angel. I got her on her feet and told her to stand behind me as i approached her attacker as he lay on his stomach. Slowly, we walked to the exit of the barn and we made it out. I pointed to the lady, thats my car over there, get in. She ran and got in the drivers side. Slam the door went and this woman took off and stole my car.

"Son of a bitch," I mutttered. I turned my attrention back to the guy on the ground but he had gotten away somehow. He was gone. Perfect. I tightened my grip once more. Then, i slowly backed out of the barn toward the main road again.

Bright lights came on from down the road toward the farm. The engine revved and the truck peeled out from the parking lot and down the main road straight for me. I turned the corner of the four way and tried to make a run for main street for safety, I ran my fastest but knew the truck could only be right behind me. A developement was to my left on the other side of the hospital. I cut off the road to head towards it. I heard the truck's breaks hit once it had made it to the four way. He must not have seen what direction I went. I heard a truck door shut. He must be behind me on foot. With my lead on him, I hit the ground softly and hid behind some bushes and a garden. I could see him, but he had't found me. In his arms was a shotgun. He took about five feet from his truck my direction, stopped and looked over the developement, hoping to see me but he hadn't. He kicked the ground in frustration and slid back into his beat up old chevy truck. However, he proceeded toward main street. I watched him until he was no longer in sight and got up off my stomach and kept low as i slinked my way through the developement like a criminal. I knew that the police station was not far but couldn't be open, but i did see three cruisers outside the bar that was closer and just outside these houses on the southern side of town. Past each house I tried to remain unnoticed from any cat, skunk, or loud mouth little dogs that might draw attention. Past clover street and down maple circle. I was about half way to the main cross roads before I'd only have to go down the hill for police when i heard an engine coming. Again, I dove down to the ground. This time, around the corner of someones house. I peaked from the other side. Slowly the trucks lights searched the porches of this small town America. He continued around the bend believing he'd failed to find me. He turned around and made a left at the intersection that would take him where he must not have been yet. I pushed up again and saw a shovel near me, I grabbed it. I was no longer unarmed.

I slinked again and again, passed houses and I could see the bar just over some tall yellow grass. I climbed over it and made my way into the parking lot, across it and to the police cars. I heard their radios going wild. When i appraoched their cruisers i was shocked. Their faces had been made into hamburger like messes of what they'd used to have been. I almost threw up. I reached into their squad cars and pulled out their pistols from their holsters. The truck was coming from main street toward the bar. I cocked each gun and anticipated the clowns arrival. I'd blast his ass.

The lights came from around the corner. Thats when I heard an engine turn on behind me. While I was fixated on the lights, I hadn't pay attention to the parking lot of the bar. The truck was behind me and its lights were off. The next thing i remember, the truck was rolling over my head and i passed out. The last things i saw were The dirty barefoot of the redneck and a shovel being dragged behind him. He lifted it up and slammed it on my neck. My head came off easily.

So on the 26th i'll be 23...and that makes me feel old...cuz i haven't quite found my place in life yet..

i will be getting a wii on the 20th tho!

and i am deeply in love..on a four year relationship..so i suppose i have that to show. Also, i have a roomate position i have kind of  neglected..and i've found what i want to do as a career. Writing. and IT Management.

So i suppose moving out, realizing the value of education, finding love, and finding my carreer is evidence that i've done ok since graduation of '05. I hope in another four years i'll be twice as successful.

All in all, i think i'm young..and not too far behind in life compared to others my age..Also, im not in jail nor have i had any illegitamate kids..so..Yea, i suppose im fine

"Don't worry, I wouldn't do that. I mean what kind of person would I be if i were to lie straight up about that? I wouldn't say no, knowing full well." I explained.

"Well, I trust you but I mean it. Stan, If you had some of your friends go ahead and wait just to jump out and scare me I'll be pissed," Felicia said.

"It is pretty creepy though isn't it?"

"Yeah."

For weeks now, I've tried to find an inexpensive way to scare up some halloween fun. See, I don't have a lot of money, but i have a girlfriend that likes to be treated like a princess. She can be too much at times , but i love her so i try my best to make her feel spoiled. Originally, she had wanted to go to some more expensive halloween festivities. You know, haunted houses, spooky amusements and such, the more pricey side of Halloween, but I can't quite afford the fifty dollars a person. Plus, not only has Felicia been there before, but it wasn't quite the funnest of times. She has a fear of clowns and wouldn't you know, a large clown cornered her in the haunted house. Talk about getting bang for the buck, Felicia claims he had her there for about ten or fifteen minutes. She was frightened to a level i still tease her about now and then.

Anyways, we both live in a small down in Pennsylvania where there are lots of back roads that lead into the woods. I know of a particular road caled Seglock Road. Its out in the game hunting lands where the roads aren't traveled enough for even winter maintainence. It can be very spooky at night and practically no one lives there. Often, teens go through the woods for mischief like parking for a quick sexual adventure, having a bonfire, booze, or even just sleeping away from home. At least, thats what i've heard. The area seems to be without consequence. Originally, i had thought we could walk these woods because i knew it would scare the crap out of Felicia, but i heard people can get shot walking those woods at night so just riding through should provide enough fright for one night.

I had gotten off work around nine and Felicia was waiting. So, i picked her up and i didn't tell her where we were going. I was pretty sure she had never been there and i didn't want her to anticipate the scare and thereby lessen it so i just told her we were going somewhere spooky and for her to relax. For the most part she listened.

Slowly the roads went on and on though town as civilization grew fewer and farther between.Soon there were only the glow of my headlights amongst the trees. We were entering Seglock.

The tires made a grinding noise as the tires rolled over he gravel. No houses, no people. There were hardly even signs anymore. Slowly, the comforts of civilization seemed to fade. I checked my phone. I wasn't surprised to see there was no signal. We had no communication to any community nor anyone around us. We were truely alone and that was chiling. Thats when my high beams started flickering.

"Whats going on? Stop it! So not funny," Felicia cried.

"Im not doing it!"

"What are you talking about..Oh my god."

"Relax baby, everthings fine. You trust me right? I wouldn't put us in any danger."

Felicia wasn't calmed.

"What the heck are you talking about? Your fricken lights are going out!"

She was right but i wouldn't dare admit it.

"Its probably just the battery. I'll turn the lights off for a sec and the alternator will charge the battery and the lights will work and we'll get out of here safe and sound." I lied a lie i hoped would come true.

I tried my best to see through the dark and for the most part i did well.

Felicia screamed "Watch out!"

I looked at her for a second before turning my sight back to the road.

Something big hit the windshield. It shattered glass all over us.

Felicia nudged me. Blood was streaming down between my eyes and the car was now in a ditch. I was still in the drivers side but the car was totalled and Felicia was now drenched in blood as was i. I bent the window toward the ground and managed to climb through onto wet grass. I walked over to Felicia's side where the door had been dented. It looked as if someone was trying to pry it open, but quit before they succeeded. I kicked out the window and sprayed glass all over Felicia but i was able to pull her out of her window.

"We're not safe here."

"But we're not safe to walk."

"Well we have to start moving somewhere. Whoever, whatever we hit will know to come back," I explained.

"At least if we start moving we might reach the outside of these woods."

Everything i said was purely to keep Felicia from freaking out when in reality, i was on the brink myself. No phone, no help, and now, no car. We were scewed. My watch said four in the morning. The fog was rolling in thick.

Two more hours and the sun would be coming up. If we could get out before then or at least remain safe by then, everything should be fine.

But whatever it was i hit. It just didn't look human. Maybe the impact rattled something loose in my head, but what i remember seeing was scaly and greenish. Looking back, it was almost webbed. That would explain the inability to muster any impact that would jar Felicias door open or break her window. Whatever it was, it was out there. If we're lucky, it won't find us.

I'm trying to hone my writing skills lately and decided to practice by just writing once a night or a week or whatever so that i just become more comfortable and the words become better quality through excersize..

This was my first practice piece.

The woods were dark and the mist thick as a slight breeze rustled through the trees. The sky was black and the ground was moist. It had surely rained earlier and could rain again any time.

Dave and Sarah staggered out of the cabin after hours of throwing back uninterrupted beers and shots of tequila. They were both quite drunk but neither seemed to really care. Dave was about six foot tall with shaggy blonde hair and had your basic high school quaterbacks physique under a letter jacket. Sarah fit a likeness to that of the stereotypical head cheerleader but with brown hair and sporting a tight but somewhat conservative maroon long sleeve sweater.

The two teens had both grown up in suburbia but now shuffled into the dark woods far from home. Their intent was to find somewhere romantic to perhaps further their evening to a more intimate level. Still grasping an emptied beer bottle, Dave, realised it and tossed it to the darkness waiting for the break but didn't hear it and shrugged it off. Sarah wore a grin from ear to ear. She had liked Dave for a long time now and figured tonight she would let him seal the deal once and for all. She grabbed his hand and pulled him toward her before planting a seductive but gentle kiss on him. It surprised Dave but before he could really enjoy it her lips were leaving his and reforming the grin from moments ago. She chuckled and bit down on her bottom lip. "What was that?" Dave asked with a smile and curiousity. She answered "Just a tease." She paused, "but you can have more if you can catch me." She laughed and slowly backed further from him. Dave followed in playful motion as the two played tickle tag farther and farther from the cabin.

Soon, neither Dave nor Sarah knew where they were but both found themselves collapsing to the ground into each others arms on a grassy hill. They both smiled and laughed and stared into each others eyes until the smile left their faces. They both grew quiet for a second before Dave broke the seriousness. "Ya know they call this 'Camp Blood' right?" "No," she said. "Why?" "Well, legend has it that when the place opened up, it was a camp for regular kids, but then charities got involved and parents complained so they started bringing in special needs kids too. Well, sometimes the two groups would meet and play games together or what have you. One year, a real freaky lookin' kid came to camp. The other kids were so mean to him because of how ugly he was and used to tease and poke at him or laugh."

"Thats horrible. Poor little guy." Sarah sighed. "Kids can be so cruel." Dave continued "Yea, but it gets worse. See, i guess they were boating or swimming or something, and somehow that little boy fell under the water and started to drown. The other kids were scared and didn't really know what to do and so they swam to shore. Scared they would get in trouble, none of the kids spoke up." Sarah questioned "Well, what happened?"

"The boy died." Dave pointed across the woods to a large body of water. "There, right in Crystal Lake. They say he just sank right to the bottom. Police tried to find the body but they never did."

Dave paused with a puzzeled look. "I wish I could remember his name.." He started to guess, "Ja, Ja, Jack? No. Jimmy? No. Oh, I know what it was. It was Jason! Jason Voorhees. They say he still roams these woods." Sarah became spooked. "Shut up! No, no. You're lying. Did you make all that up just to scare me? I bet you did. You're mean." "No, no. I'm serious," he contested. "

Sarah played along, "Then maybe we should go back inside. Wouldn't want to get --"

Thats when, from the corner of her eye she saw the gleam of the blade cut through the night, headed straight for her neck. Shlink, her head rolled, severed from her neck down into Davids lap. Blood bathed over Davids lettered jacket and spritzed into the air like that of a thumb over the end of a garden hose.

Dave locked eyes with the head he had formerly wanted to place his lips on in horror and began to raise his head to see a very large goalie mask wearing man with muddy black boots, jeans and a thick jacket. In his hand was the machete that just took Sarah apart as the killer raised it back once more rearing back for the last thing Dave would ever see. Before he could even scream the blade split into the top of his skull like an axe through a watermelon and Daves eyes became further apart before the blade stopped just shy of the base of his neck. Lodged in the top of his spine, the killer now pulled back once again the long blade, but it did not want to pry loose. So, the large man placed a boot over the letter on the blood soaked jacket and pryed the blade loose finally. Jason shealthed the blade and lifted Daves carcass over his right shoulder. Then, he leaned down and threw Sarah's headless body over his left shoulder before picking up her head by the hair with his left hand like that of a grocery bag.

Jason knew the woods well. He carried the kills to his shed like rummage of a shack where the head of his dead mother lay setup like a shrine amongst candles on a table. Jason placed Dave and Sarahs remains in the opposite corner of the shack and bowed down on one knee to the severed head of his mother as her bidding had been done.

Back in town, the deputy approached the sherrif in panic.

Meh, its not edited. I'd like the more detailed sentences to be shorter and therefore easier to follow but i would say its not horrible for a try. more to come
